File Extension VCD
Nowadays most people would convert their lovely PC into multimedia box. As you know, computer technology are more advance than embedded system, in embedded system you should buy multimedia system on a separated part, which are very expensive but in computer you just bought one single computer system and you have all part necessary to entertain you. Who’s wouldn’t drool when their friends have DVD, DVB, HDTV, Dolby Digital Surround, AV Recording/Editing, Internet, and so many more advance technology in just a single system?, that the main reason why you should buy computer, and build up a nice home theater on your living room. Recent days when operating system are more friendly, there are no reason you can’t build one, but in another circumstances, maintenance’s are most annoying specially when you’ve used Windows as OS on your entertainment box, why?, cause you’ll be deal with viruses, corrupted files, broken registries, junk files, etc.
It wouldn’t be so much trouble when you have backup CD/DVD specially drivers at your disposal, but when you loose it then maintenance, repairing, and reinstall your Windows will be a nightmare, trust me!, I’ve been there once. So when your computer is one year old with customized peripheral which have their own CD/DVD Driver or maybe you had a laptop/notebook, can’t you guarantee that their CD/DVD still intact in that moment? I don’t think so. Okay you are an expert in computer, determining, finding, and installing those driver wouldn’t be difficult for you but still that kind of activity would consume so much time. Those should convince you that you need some kind of application to determining, finding, and installing driver for your hardware automatically, if it so then File Extension VCD is your answer.
I have been testing this on my own laptop and the result are great, testing it on an AMD possessor with nforce base laptop, this application can identify all of my hardware correctly from my touch pad to my wireless. Further testing couldn’t be done on my laptop because I don’t wanna XP resident on it, for your note I’m using openSUSE 11.1 and those kind of problem won’t be come up on my system. Luckily on the next day I’ve got the opportunity to test it on one of my client PC (an old P4 class processor with Intel chipset), this old rig got a bunch of viruses. First I’m doing clean install, then configuring Internet connection after that downloading Driver Detective from File Extension VCD installing and running this application. Waiting for about half an hour while enjoying a cup of coffee and smoking then restart this old rig. First time it come up, I’m doing thoroughly check specially on device manager and it was surprised me that all of device was correctly detected and installed with their current drivers.
So here is my conclusion, this File Extension VCD is doing very good work under Windows OS (as the developer claim it), but because this application prefer on official driver, then speed would be slightly decrease as stability increase. This application surely would replace all CD/DVD driver at your disposals and for sure it is scratch resistant, no-loose, and virus free.
